Summer Newsletter 2026

GREETINGS CMT Family and friends. This newsletter will bring you up to date on the 2026-2027 season, report on what's coming up, invite you to a party and give a heads up on CMT's AGM.

• Kudos to the season, acknowledging the results of ACTCO and Celebration of Artistry for Anastasia

  • Our Journey to the past got great kudos at the ACTCO GALA. Nominations for best set (Beth and Christine), best light (Jim), best sound (Greg and Sergio), best newcomer (Claire), best choreo (Jenny) and best show! (Rita and Christine producers). Huge congrats to Danny who won best director musical and Leslie Carney (best supporting female musical).

  • Thanks you all for making this a very special production, bringing us from Leningrad to Paris. We've made new friends and many memories. Congrats cast and team of Anastasia and thanks to the subscribers who chose Anastasia as their favourite show from the Encore Series.   • Kudos to our cast (Emily Searle , Nathan Younger, Allison Colosimo , Kirk Teeple, Johnny McGroarty, Leslie Carney), all the inhabitants of Russia and Paris to grace the stage, the ballerinas, and Romanovs and train crew... so many memories of a very special production, a journey to the past, celebrating Clarkson 's 80 years of entertaining Mississauga. Congrats to a Celebration of Artistry (team Erica Angela ). We honoured Louise Ferguson with the "Behind the Scenes" Award, Nicole Chafe with "Above and Beyond Award", "Ghost Light Award" went to Kevin Roose and "Ensemble Award" to Aidan Eddy. Congrats to the entire series which made us proud

    to be a part of community theatre. Thank you to our Meadowvale Theatre audiences who support our efforts. Here's to our next season of Encore.

• Kudos to the concert "From Good to Evil." Erica will direct the 2027 concert which will be on May 7 and 8, 2027

  • Shout out to the incredible cast of the spring concert “From Good to Evil.” Audiences were dazzled, moved, and on their feet for the voices that delivered the program of iconic songs from some of theatres biggest hits. Congratulations to the cast, crew, musicians, and the amazing Erica Astles for her leadership. Stay tuned for next years audition notice and join the team in bringing some more stunning songs to the community.

• The Christmas Cheer Choir will rehearse on Wednesdays, starting on September 9th in the chapel at Christ First, on Mazo Crescent. Our rehearsals are from 1.00 - 3.00 p.m., and we would welcome new members. Contact producer Seona msydor5@rogers.com to join. Deadline _______. This isn’t a competition choir: rather, what we try to do is bring a concert of both old favourites and Christmas music to people who would find it difficult to go to one. Almost all of these concerts are afternoon performances, from the end of November to the first two weeks in December.

• This year, we welcome a new music director, Barb Cogan. She has been involved with the Mississauga Festival Choir for some time, and comes recommended by both Catherine Ambrose and Robin Dalgleish. She brings both experience and enthusiasm, and we are looking forward to working with her.

• Members only: Circle the date: The upcoming CMT AGM 2026 will be held by zoom on Thursday September 17th at 7:30 pm. Your board will report on news from the season, share your year end financials, hold Board elections, share member news, and welcome your new lifetime CMT members A Zoom link will accompany the members only August newsletter. Those wishing to be placed on the ballot for the CMT Board of Directors should send their name to Mary DiRenzo (secretary) by Aug.18. Those standing for re-election are: Rita Ferguson, Christine McMahon, Susan Wray Toogood, and Nick Forrow. If you cannot attend the AGM, your August newsletter will include a link to vote (for those standing for election to the CMT Board) and to give your proxy to endorse holding the AGM.
