President's AGM Report

Welcome to the 2010 AGM for CMT. Its great to see you here tonight. Its hard to believe we are now in the year 2010. This is a special year for CMT as we celebrate our 65th anniversary. This is quite an achievement for our group.We owe so much to our members over the years from 1945 to the present who have worked so diligently to keep the group up and running. Thanks also to so many people who have contributed to putting our shows and concerts on stage. May unsung heroes to whom we owe so much.
We will be holding a gala evening in November to celebrate this milestone, Christine will address it later in the agenda.
This past year has been busy one as usual. We performed Millie at Meadowvale Theatre and it was so much fun both on and off stage. Audiences loved it, thanks to all the people involved in one of my personal favourite shows.
Our Christmas choir was directed by Ruth McDonald, produced by Liz Allan and Eleanor Crisell was the accompanist. The choir performed in many seniors residences and delighted their audiences. Thank you and congratulations to Ruth and all involved in the choir.
We had a very nice wine and cheese evening at the home of the Carney family in December, Thanks to Leslie and Denis for hosting this event.
Our spring concert was a lot of fun also. Thanks to Bob Hardinge for all his hard work.
As another year passes we send our deepest sympathy to the families who have lost loved ones this past year.
To Lesley Montgomery, Emily Falls who lost there Dads, Rob Gorican and Jo Kemp who lost their Mums and to the Forth Family and the members of CMT as we lost our beloved Ab last September. May they rest in peace and always be in our hearts.
The Timmons family welcomed baby Ben in to their lives, congratulations to Erin and her husband.
Richard and Rebecca Valentine welcomed baby Ethan to meet his big sister Grace.
Louise Ferguson and Miso Radman got engaged on St Patrick's day.
Kelly McDonald is to be married this coming Saturday.
Congratulations to all on these happy occasions, we wish them all the very best.
To the board of directors I would like to extend a huge thank you for all the work this year. Thank you to all who hosted meetings and attended meetings on CMT's behalf.
Thank you to all who worked quietly to get the work done to keep our group running , to all these unsung heroes who deserve so much thanks for their work.
From myself thank you to all the board and to you for all your support to me. I really appreciate it and your smile means the world to me.
Here's to a wonderful year ahead for CMT. I wish all of you health and happiness and a great summer and also year ahead.
